Meet The Hunt
The Hunt is the app-guided scavenger hunt platform for playing, customizing, and creating real-world experiences.
We built The Hunt for people who want something more fun to do around town — and for the local businesses, creators, and partners who help make those experiences happen. Players follow clues, scan checkpoints, unlock exclusive offers, and move through real places with friends, family, coworkers, dates, classmates, or teams.
Some Hunts are professionally produced stories. Some are customized routes built around your own plans. Some are private events, trainings, bar crawls, fundraisers, campus activities, or team challenges created right inside the app.Your phone guides the experience. The real fun happens out in the world.

Why we built this
We built The Hunt because we love local businesses, and we love giving people a better answer to, “What should we do?”
Local restaurants, cafés, bars, shops, bookstores, venues, attractions, and entertainment spots work hard to create places people enjoy. At the same time, people are always looking for something fun, social, and different to do.
The Hunt brings those worlds together.
For players, it turns a regular outing into something more interactive. Follow the clue, find the stop, scan the checkpoint, unlock the offer, and keep moving.
For creators, it makes it easy to build private or custom experiences without building an app. Create a birthday Hunt, pub crawl, training route, campus activity, fundraiser, team event, or something completely your own.
For local businesses, it creates a new foot-traffic channel built around active participation. Hunt Sponsors can welcome players, share their message and offer, and track verified player visits.
For local partners, it creates an opportunity to help The Hunt grow by signing up sponsors, building player activity, and creating momentum in their market. The idea is simple: use the phone to get people out into the real world together.
What we believe
We believe local life should be more fun, more connected, and more active. The Hunt is built around real places, real people, and shared experiences — with a business model that rewards participation instead of empty impressions.

We love local busineses
Restaurants, cafés, bars, shops, bookstores, venues, attractions, and entertainment spots give a community its personality. We want The Hunt to help more people experience those places, meet the people behind them, and support the businesses that make their area feel alive.

We want people out in their Community
There is a lot of scrolling, streaming, and staying home. We built The Hunt to give people a fun reason to get out, move around, try places, laugh with their group, and make a normal day or night feel less ordinary. The phone helps guide the experience. It should not be the whole experience.

We take the work seriously, not ourselves.
We care about building a great product for players, businesses, creators, and partners. But the voice of The Hunt should stay playful. If we can help a group laugh, help a business meet a new customer, and make a regular outing feel more memorable, we are doing it right.

Simple, fair, and tied to real results.
Local businesses should not have to guess what they are paying for. The Hunt is designed to deliver real people into real locations, with participation that can be tracked through verified player visits. Our launch sponsor model is simple: no long contracts, no hidden fees, and performance-based pricing tied to real engagement.

We grow together
The Hunt gets better when players, sponsors, creators, and local partners all help build the experience.Players get more fun ways to explore. Sponsors get trackable customer visits. Creators get tools to build and share their own experiences. Local partners can earn by helping activate sponsors, grow player engagement, and bring The Hunt to life in their market.
When The Hunt grows locally, everyone involved has a chance to benefit.

Everything you need to know about The Hunt and how it works.
The Hunt is an app-guided scavenger hunt platform for playing, customizing, and creating real-world experiences. Players follow clues, visit real locations, scan checkpoints, unlock exclusive offers, and move through town in a way that feels social, surprising, and fun.
The Hunt is for players looking for something different to do, creators who want to build custom experiences, local businesses that want trackable customer visits, and local partners who want to help The Hunt grow in their market.
You can play a professionally produced Hunt, customize a published Hunt with your own locations, or create something completely private for your group, team, event, training, fundraiser, campus, or crawl.
The Hunt lives inside the app. That means players can follow clues, scan QR checkpoints, unlock sponsor offers, use team play, receive directions, access custom content, and move through the experience without someone manually running every step.
It can be a story-driven Hunt, a private party route, a bar crawl, a training activity, a campus event, a team challenge, or something completely custom.

Yes. Your custom Hunt can be shared only with the people you invite. An Official Hunt Sponsor Location is a local business that participates in The Hunt. Sponsors can appear as stops in Hunts, welcome players, share their message and offer, and track verified player visits from the Sponsor Dashboard.
For players, sponsor stops can mean exclusive offers, rewards, or fun local moments along the way. For businesses, it creates a new way to bring engaged customers through the door.

The Hunt is built for both sides of the experience: people who want something fun to do and people who want to create something of their own. You can play a professionally produced Hunt, customize a published Hunt with your own locations, or build a private Hunt for a group, team, training, event, fundraiser, campus activity, or bar crawl. The Hunt also connects players with local businesses through QR checkpoints, exclusive Hunt offers, and sponsor stops that feel like part of the experience.
Both. The Hunt is designed so someone can open the app and start playing, but it also gives creators tools to build their own experiences directly inside the app. A player might choose a sponsored Hunt for a night out, while a creator might build a private birthday Hunt, training route, pub crawl, or campus activity. That flexibility is one of the biggest differences between The Hunt and apps that focus mainly on either public city games or event-only scavenger hunts.
City scavenger hunt apps are often built around pre-made routes, landmarks, sightseeing, or self-guided tours. The Hunt can do that, but it also lets users customize locations, create private experiences, add QR checkpoints, include sponsor offers, and run group-based Hunts for almost any occasion. The goal is not just to see a city. It is to play, personalize, create, and bring people into real local places in a way that feels social and interactive.
Many corporate scavenger hunt platforms are great for one-time team-building events, conferences, onboarding, or internal engagement. The Hunt can support those use cases, but it is also a consumer app with public Hunts, private creator Hunts, local sponsor locations, exclusive offers, and location-based play. That means the same platform can be used for a company training event, a campus orientation, a private party, a bar crawl, or a night out with friends.
Puzzle hunt apps usually focus heavily on clues, answers, and puzzle solving. The Hunt can include puzzles, riddles, questions, decision points, and even AR moments, but it does not have to be puzzle-heavy. A Hunt can also be a simple social route, a training checklist, a pub crawl, a fundraiser, a campus tour, or a private event. Creators can make the experience as simple or as clever as they want.
Yes. The Hunt is launching everywhere, and active sponsor locations will grow over time. If you want to play in an area where sponsor stops are still coming online, you can customize a published Hunt by swapping in your own locations. That lets you build around your favorite restaurants, bars, campus spots, event stops, parks, local businesses, or places your group already wants to visit.
Yes. Creator Mode is built directly into The Hunt app. You can create a private Hunt for friends, family, employees, students, guests, customers, or event participants. Add locations, clues, instructions, QR checkpoints, images, audio, questions, decision points, and discovery content, then publish privately and share your join code only with the people you invite. Your Hunt does not appear publicly unless you choose to submit it for possible publication.
There are a lot of ways to run a scavenger hunt, city game, team activity, or app-guided event. The Hunt is built to bring those ideas together in one flexible platform: play a polished Hunt, customize the route, create your own, invite your group, and connect with real local places along the way.
Let’s Roam is well known for app-led city scavenger hunts, tours, bar crawls, ghost tours, art walks, date nights, and experiences in many cities. The Hunt is different because it combines public Hunts, customizable locations, in-app Creator Mode, private invite-only Hunts, QR checkpoints, sponsor offers, and local business participation in one platform. The Hunt is built for people who want to play tonight, personalize the route, or create something completely custom for their own group.
Goosechase is an interactive experience platform often used by organizations and schools for real-world challenges, community engagement, education, analytics, leaderboards, and branded experiences. The Hunt is more consumer-facing while still supporting creators, teams, campuses, trainings, and events. The Hunt also emphasizes published scavenger hunt-style experiences, customizable routes, private creator Hunts inside the app, QR sponsor stops, and exclusive offers from local businesses.
Scavify is positioned as a scavenger hunt platform for team building, events, gamification, onboarding, tours, corporate activities, and custom challenges. The Hunt can support many of those use cases, but it is also built as a consumer scavenger hunt app with professionally produced Hunts, location customization, private Creator Mode in the app, local sponsor stops, and exclusive Hunt offers. The Hunt is not limited to one-off event administration; it is designed to support ongoing play, creation, and local discovery.
Questo focuses on city exploration games, outdoor escape games, and self-guided walking tours where players move through real landmarks, solve puzzles, and uncover story moments. The Hunt overlaps with that kind of real-world play, but adds more flexibility for users who want to customize locations, create private Hunts, run group events, include sponsor offers, or build something that is not purely a tour or escape-style experience.
Actionbound is used to create multimedia scavenger hunts, learning routes, guided walks, museum experiences, and interactive educational activities, often through a browser-based creator. The Hunt is designed as a consumer and creator app where users can play, customize, and create directly from the app. It also adds a sponsor model where local businesses can participate through QR-verified visits and exclusive Hunt offers.
ClueKeeper is a platform for creating and playing location-based clue hunts, with mobile clues and AR integration. The Hunt can support clues, QR checkpoints, puzzles, questions, and AR-style moments, but it is built around a broader platform model: public Hunts, private Creator Mode, location customization, team play, sponsor offers, and local business participation. The Hunt is meant to be approachable for casual players, creators, event hosts, businesses, and local partners.
